About the Show
Produced by Magamba TV in 2025, Magweja is a gritty, dramatic comedy set in a bustling, dusty mining town. The series captures the chaotic lives of the town’s residents—ranging from ambitious gold seekers and cunning opportunists to a hilariously inept police officer.
Through a blend of sharp humor and raw drama, the show explores the complex social dynamics of a frontier community:
- The Hustle: Characters chasing fortune against all odds.
- The Drama: Navigating greed, corruption, and intense rivalries.
- The Heart: Finding friendship and resilience in unexpected places.
Expanding Our Reach: Magweja Goes Regional
The momentum doesn’t stop with the award. We are proud to announce that Magamba has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Crown TV Zambia.
Zambian audiences and regional viewers can look forward to seeing Magweja on Crown TV’s DStv channel, with Season 1 scheduled to begin airing by the end of March 2026. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to bring authentic Zimbabwean storytelling to the wider African continent.
